Helping families struggling with child anxiety & upcoming professional development opportunities
Helping parents help their anxious children
Anxiety is now the most common mental health condition affecting young people. In Australia, nearly 1 in 3 young women and 1 in 5 young men aged 16–24 report experiencing an anxiety disorder. Behind these statistics are families navigating the daily challenges of school refusal, panic, sleep difficulties and emotional overwhelm.
As professionals working in education, health or community services, you are often the first point of contact for parents when a child’s anxiety starts to interfere with their life. Increasingly, parents are looking to us for not just empathy but direction. They want to know what they can do at home to genuinely support their child’s wellbeing without reinforcing the problem.
Anxiety can feel overwhelming – for the child experiencing it and the adults trying to help. But with the right support and guidance, parents can make a significant difference. The science tells us that even modest shifts in adult responses can lead to meaningful improvements in children’s resilience and independence
Anxiety Coach™ for Child & Family Specialists

This professional learning course is built on three key principles that support early intervention in childhood anxiety:
Understanding how anxiety develops helps community and family support workers assist parents in recognising and interrupting its progression in children.
Prevention is possible when parents are guided to play a proactive role in reducing worry and emotional avoidance in children aged 4 to 12.
Resilience can be taught through practical, everyday strategies that help children build flexible thinking and face challenges with greater confidence.
Anxiety Coach™ for Child & Family Specialists equips professionals with the knowledge and tools to guide parents in managing anxiety effectively and fostering long-term emotional strength in children.

1-2-3 Magic® & Emotion Coaching for Special Needs

Supporting special needs children in their emotional and behavioural development requires clarity, patience and a willingness to adjust. The 1-2-3 Magic® & Emotion Coaching for Special Needs program offers a structure that can be tailored to meet individual needs while maintaining consistency and processing time and equips parents with the tools they need to manage behaviour while remaining calm and compassionate.
Children with diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, or communication delays often process information differently. They might also respond to behavioural cues in ways that reflect sensory differences, regulation challenges or cognitive variations. With this in mind, behaviour support must be adapted in a way that respects both the child’s developmental profile and their right to feel safe and understood.

Tough Conversations for Frontline Staff

Frontline staff in the office or administration of service centres hold the line every day. It’s time they had the tools to do it with confidence.
Front office staff are often the first point of contact for clients, parents, carers and visitors. They are the face of the organisation the voice on the phone, and the calm in the storm when situations start to escalate.
But too often, these staff are expected to manage frustration, outbursts and emotionally charged interactions — without having been given the practical skills to do so.
Tough Conversations for Frontline Staff is designed to change that.
This one-day, hands-on training equips public-facing staff with a clear structure, calm language, and practical techniques for managing difficult interactions. Whether someone is raising their voice, refusing to listen, or demanding more than you can give, you’ll walk away with tools you can apply immediately — no jargon, no theory overload.
What makes this training different? It’s grounded in:
- Real-world frontline experience
- Evidence from psychology and neuroscience
- Proven communication strategies that defuse conflict and protect professional boundaries.
